'The space between us' explores what it means to go from being a child to being an adult.
Although the piece depicts two people, the two are also a symbol for one person: the adult moving forward into the darkness of the world with a light in her hand trying to find her way forward and the young girl looking back at her childhood, never to return to the innocence of that time.
